So unit production at AAon built their tax deduction for me a few weeks ago, and I got it installed, charged and up and running. A few more software bugs to work out, and perhaps fiddle with the airflow rates a bit more for fine-tuning. But here sits my new 4-Ton condensing unit per my design (electrically speaking for the unit, and system design for the installation).
4-Ton split system with Air conditioning, Heat Pump (reverse air conditioner to provide indoor heating from 40+ degree's outdoor air temperature), Reheat (True de-humidification with a constant maintained indoor supply air temperature), Dual-Fuel (under 40-degree's outside air temperature, gas furnace takes over indoor-heating), Modulating Indoor ECM fan (200-600 Watts power draw), Modulating outdoor ECM Condenser fan (0-300 Watts Power draw, set to maintain head pressure and thusly use the least power necessary), Digital Scroll Compressor (10-100% true fully modulating compressing capability, 400-2,700 Watts usage based on indoor load). And oh yes, the unit is 15 SEER with a larger indoor coil and less efficient fan and compressor, this unit in particular calculates to between 17 and 24 SEER.
Here we are running the new refrigerant lines, I will be using one of the old refrigerant lines to pump out the condensate flow from the indoor coil (moisture being removed as humidity reduced) (which is quite sizeable in this region during the summer at around 1-2 gpm) onto the condensing coil to assist in reducing the need for the fan to run and compressor to work as hard due to condensing the refrigerant.
Here is the controller that handles the dehumidification and blower motor control. I have to trick it a bit to utilize dual-fuel instead of electric heat and heat pump (electric heat strips being painfully inefficient and the worst source of home heating).
